Hi All, I am dj Phüze and I have been spinning underground dance music for 34 years. I earned my dancing boots way back at the birth of the UK broken beat/jungle rave scene in 1989 so I am kind of a veteran at this. My preference in dance music has always been a love and passion for the broken beats. I believe I have a unique sound here in BC purely due to my origins stemming from the old skool UK rave scene. Amethystra finally started DJing in January 2020, after over two decades as a dedicated fan of electronic music. While she enjoyed learning to DJ over Twitch during the pandemic, she prefers to play at community events, such as Intention, Algorhythm, or fundraisers, and also at regional Burning Man events. Amethystra generally prefers more melodic sounds, and DJs her favourite genres: primarily deep house, tech house, progressive, techno and trance.

UNICODE has been producing and DJing in Vancouver since he arrived in 2005, holding down residencies at weeklies/monthlies like Descent Sundays, Noir, Aphelion, Cuffed and more. At the start of the 2020 lockdowns, they took the time away from DJing as an opportunity to reinvent what UNICODE is: a live produced, spontaneous and multigenre dance music experience. A tight array of drum machines, samplers and synthesizers come together in this Live PA show to build a deep, melodic soundscape and a pounding, relentless house groove which is unique to the moment, and never played the same way twice.
(Rumours have circulated that this (usually) melodic-deep-tech-house artist might have some new genre-twisting, DnB-inspired experiments to throw down at Intention. It's me. Hi. I'm circulating rumours.)

Love many genres - faves are R&B, Funk, Soul, and Disco - doing a set with an African and Latin American flavour!
Music is in my blood. Grew up surrounded by musicians, living room jams, sleeping backstage at concerts, and exposure to many kinds of music. At 13, my life changed after going through my mom's partner's record collection: David Bowie, Iggy Pop, The Stones, Motown, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, King Sunny Ade, and Ali Farka Touré.
In University I had a radio show called "Molasses Groove", where I randomly mixed musical genres to find gems that all shared a thick and sticky groove. Old school days with CDs and records! Later years DJed at parties with two record players and a mixer. Intention is a first for me!
