For Intention 23, we have an all new and all magikal location at Camp Squeah near Hope, BC! (Elphinstone couldn't host us due to staffing problems.)
annotated site map: Intention_2023_Squeah_map.pdf
Close enough to Vancouver to get to, but far enough away for that I'm-on-a-wild-BC-adventure feeling, Camp Squeah is tucked into the forested mountains beside the mighty Fraser River Canyon. Just 15 minutes past Hope, on Hwy #1 (map), it's a easy 2 hour-ish drive, from Vancouver. Can you say, "Yay, no holiday ferries to stress about!" (apologies to our Sunshine Coast crew - we love you, please get on the boat and come dance with us!)
Don't have a ride? No problem we've got a ride share board and there are regular buses to Hope, and we can arrange pick up from bus if needed. We'll make sure you get here. We promise.
ABOUT THIS LAND
We acknowledge that we will be gathering on the ancestral, unceded territories of the Yale First Nation, as well as the Stó:lō, Nlaka’pamux, and many other indigenous peoples. We express gratitude for this land and everything that it provides, inviting awareness of how and why the people of Canada have access to all of its beauty and abundance. We strive to leave no trace and to preserve the land wherever we gather.
CAMP SQUEAH
Camp Squeah, pronounced like ‘Skwee-ah’, in the local Salish dialect, alludes to ‘Place of Refuge’. A place to withdraw from the fast pace of life to find renewal and peace.
Perfect for our Winter Intention 2023 theme - Den of Dreams.
Squeah is gorgeous. It has that traditional "camp" feel with big timbers, stone and fireplaces. Yet it's very modern and functional as well. More than suitable for all of our needs. Their staff have been so helpful too. They're really looking forward to hosting us.
We'll be sleeping in fully winterized and heated cabins and lodges. Plus we have rooms in Emory Hall equipped for folks with accessibilty needs. Squeah Hall is where we'll be dancing and eating. And there are plenty of spaces for workshops, mingling and relaxing. There's even a dedicated arts and crafts room and a games room (shuffleboard tournament anyone?) We'll also have Edelwiess Hall for workshops.
All cabins are heated and have regular electric outlets. There are single width and even some double width beds with vinyl-covered mattresses. You'll need your own bedding and decor to make your cabin cozy. Check out our What To Bring page.
There will be cabins devoted to families and cabins for folks with accessibility needs. You'll also be able to choose the level of quiet you want. We have a dedicated team helping you with your accommodation needs. Email accommodation[at]intentiongathering[dot]org if you are concerned or curious about your sleeping arrangements.

FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD!
Daily brunch, dinner, and a snack are included in your ticket price. This year we're excited about bringing in a local catering crew Turnip the Beetz who specialize in organic, vegan, high vibrational meals. If you were at Enliven Festival 2023, or a volunteer at Burn in the Forest 2023, you'll know how good they are!
We're sensitive and responsive to your dietary restrictions, which are covered in the registration process.
EMBRACE THE NEW - LET GO OF YOUR FEARS!
Yeah, we know. Change is hard. We are sad about not having good ole familiar Camp Elphinstone. But trust us, Camp Squeah is going to be a truly fantastic venue for the fun transformational Intention experiece we all know and love! See you on the dance floor!
