IMPORTANT
(If you already have a PayPal account, this does not apply to you, and you can stop reading)
If you do not, and you just want to pay by credit card, be aware that PayPal will try to trick you into creating an account, when you don't need to!
Here's what you do, to avoid this:
- on the first page within PayPal, just say that you want to "pay with debit or credit card."
- on the next page, it looks like you have to create an account, but really, you don't! Before filling anything else, go all the way to the bottom of the form, and UNCHECK the box that says "Save info & create your PayPal account"!
- enter the rest of your information, as normal. You will need to enter an email address and a phone number, however these are not validated and if you choose to just make them up, to protect your privacy, that is your business ;-) Under the phone number PayPal says "We'll send one-time codes to this number so that you can log in securely without a password." That does NOT apply if you aren't creating an account!
- for the rest of the information (credit card #, expiry, CVV, name/address) you should of course enter your real information! Make sure that your name and address are exactly the same as they are on the credit card, this will prevent processing errors.
- the button at the bottom should say "Continue as Guest", just click it. after a short delay, you should be back on the Intention Gathering website, with a confirmation message. if this does not happen, take a screenshot of what you are seeing, and email registration[at]intentiongathering[dot]org
